Who were the Fantasy Dream Team in Malaysia?
Following his best weekend in the premier class to date, Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) was the top scorer in MotoGP™ Fantasy last weekend in Sepang. The Spaniard bagged the Tissot Sprint victory as well as a 2nd place Grand Prix finish as he set off from the front of the second row of the grid. This was enough for the Gresini rider to bag the top spot in the MotoGP™ Fantasy Dream Team as he was the highest-scoring gold rider with 48.5 points.
Joining the Spaniard in the Malaysian Fantasy Dream Team was the Grand Prix victor Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team). The 'Beast' enjoyed a very popular return to form as he not only bagged a front-row start but took 4th place in the Tissot Sprint and ran away from the field with a convincing Grand Prix victory. This put the Italian just one point short of Marquez in the Dream Team as he was the second-highest-scoring gold rider with 47.5 MotoGP™ Fantasy points.
The best pick for a silver rider in Sepang was Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). The Championship leader returned to pole position for the first time since the Catalan Grand Prix and went on to take two 3rd places as he secured 34 MotoGP™ Fantasy points.
The Italian's title rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) made out the Sepang Dream Team after being beaten by the World Champion in the Grand Prix. The Spaniard fought hard to take 4th place, which combined with 2nd place finishes in the Sprint and qualifying, bagged 32 Fantasy points towards the Dream Team line up.
#TeamPecco or #TeamMartin?
As attention turns to the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar, there's plenty to consider in the search for the MotoGP™ Fantasy Dream Team. Gamers can make two changes to their team in hopes of forming the dream lineup for the Lusail International Circuit.
Whilst all eyes are on the title battle, MotoGP™ Fantasy glory could go any way in Lusail. The first rider to look at is the Championship leader's teammate Enea Bastianini. The Italian is priced at only 2.5M which is 3M cheaper than his teammate. The 'Beast' could be a very strong pick after finally finding his feet in factory colours last weekend, Bastianini has also already taken victory in Qatar at the opening round of the 2022 season. It'll be worth keeping an eye on the number 23's progress throughout the practice sessions, but if the Beast truly is back he could be a powerful force in your Fantasy team for a bargain price.
The obvious picks ahead of lights out in Lusail would be the title-fighting duo of Pecco and Martin. One option would be to have both as gold riders in your Fantasy team, but both come with hefty price tags. The World Champion will cost you 5.5M to have in your Fantasy team with his title rival Martin at 4.9M. Both riders will undoubtedly have their say in the weekend's action. Bagnaia will want to make up for the misfortune of crashing out in Lusail in 2022, whilst Martin will be looking to replicate his success after standing on the podium in Qatar in 2021 during his rookie season.
Marco Bezzecchi cannot be discounted either. Whilst the Italian is out of the title fight, his fighting spirit always remains present as the VR46 rider almost always finds himself pushing towards the sharp end. For 3.9M, Bagnaia and Martin would still be better options as Gold riders but the number 72 could be a good addition as a silver rider.
The two Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders of Brad Binder and Jack Miller cannot be discounted either, and priced at 3.3M and 2M could be strong choices for your MotoGP™ Fantasy team. Both riders have shown strong form this year, with Binder having proven to be a real thorn in the side of the Ducati brigade.
The stage is set for what has the potential to be another incredible weekend in Qatar. Make sure to join in on all the MotoGP™ Fantasy action throughout the weekend, and ensure you don't miss a thing with the action underway from Friday 17th November on motogp.com!
