ライダーストーリー

Japanese rider Tatsuki Suzuki made his Grand Prix debut in 2015, riding for the CIP team on the ever-improving Mahindra alongside fellow new recruit Remy Gardner. Suzuki raced in regional championships in his native Japan before making the move to Europe to ride in the FIM CEV Repsol series. His performances were good enough to earn him a World Championship seat for 2015 and 2016. For 2017, he changed to the new SIC58 Squadra Corse and took some solid results, before taking a step forward in 2018, in the top five and fighting at the front. He continued that form in 2019, proving a regular among the front positions and earning a first victory at the San Marino GP, the home event for Paolo Simoncelli's team. Continuing with the same team in 2020, he again regularly fought at the front claiming a victory at the Andalusian GP and one more podium. 2021 didn’t pan out as Suzuki would have liked, the Japanese rider failed to register a rostrum finish throughout the season despite regular top 10 finishes and he wound up 14th in the Championship, well below the pre-season expectation. The Japanese rider would make a comeback in 2022 with the colours of the Leopard Racing team, securing three podium finishes, which would help him finish 7th overall in the lightweight category. Despite a prestigious victory in Argentina, the Japanese rider experienced a challenging season that led to his replacement after completing his home Grand Prix. However, he will return to the lightweight class full-time for 2024 with the colours of Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP.
