Biographie

Born in Cesena in 1997, Ferrari discovered his passion for bikes at the age of 5, when his father took him the San Mauro Mare minimoto track. After his first race in 2005, it took him only one year to start accumulating titles: European Minimoto Champion (2006), Italian MiniGP 50 Champion (2009), winner of Honda Trophy Extreme (2010) and the Honda Trophy RS 125GP (2011). In 2012 he was crowned European Moto3 Champion, before making the step to the San Carlo Team Italia. For 2014 he remained with the team, albeit on a Mahindra instead of Honda machinery and in 2015 he competed for a third full season in Grands Prix, keeping the same package as the previous season. In 2016 he competed in the CIV Superbike Championship and came third overall including one win, as well as taking on the STK1000 Cup at Imola and Misano - both top ten finishes. He did the same with similar results the following year, but 2018 saw Ferrari hit another gear. He was second in the CIV Superbike Championship and took two wins and eight podiums, as well as winning one of his two STK1000 appearances, the race at Imola. In 2019 he made his debut in MotoE™ with the Trentino Gresini MotoE team and became the first electric Champion, thanks to two victories in San Marino and a 3rd position in Valencia. In 2020 Ferrari challenged again but had to settle for second overall, behind Jordi Torres, despite the fact that he signed off a great campaign with 2 podiums. 2021 saw him among the frontrunners for the title once more, but a solitary victory at the season finale meant he had to settle for third overall in the World Cup. Remaining with Gresini for a fourth season, he looked to mount another title challenge in 2022. That didn't quite come to fruition, but a P3 overall and two more wins signalled another good year. In 2023, another exciting season with Gresini awaits.
