As the 2023 World Championship hurtles towards its climax, there are still rider titles up for grabs. The gripping duel between Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) has rightly grabbed the headlines heading into the penultimate round in Qatar, but the lightweight class has its own thrilling campaign to decide.
At Lusail, Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) has his first match point in his quest for Moto3™ glory. The Spaniard currently holds a 13 point advantage over Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), while the likes of David Alonso (Aspar Team), Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) and Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) still have a mathematical chance of claiming glory, they are all over 40 points behind Masia with just 50 on the board.
